The Republican Party of Columbia County for many years has supported and promoted good government and sound fiscal responsibility within Lake City, Columbia County and across this great nation. With a strong conservative base in our community, we feel it is our mission to reach out in the community and build a concensus that since Abraham Lincoln has been the backbone of good government.
As our country heads in a direction that has folks of all political affiliations worried, it is paramount that we keep our hearts and minds true to the ideals that made the Republican Party great. During this time of hardship, we must remember that there are indeed brighter days ahead. As the great historian Thomas Fuller once said "The night is always darkest just before the dawn"; we must remember that the time is upon us to begin a brand new day.
The Grand Old Party is committed to providing continued support and hope during these difficult times and in the words of Ronald Reagan, one of the greatest presidents of our time, “There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect.”; As we look to the future, and build upon our past, it is imperitive that we keep these words true and remove the artificial constraints we have placed upon ourselves, lift up the human spirit and work toward a common goal of fiscal responsibility, less government intrusion, national security and greater freedoms for the people of this great nation.
In the coming weeks and months as the political season begins to get into swing for the upcoming 2010 elections, we will continue to work hard to promote the true Republican platform and the ideology that has served this country well for nearly 150 years.
